English - Stjerneskud
Description
The Stjerneskud top is crocheted with two strands if you wish to include glitter. The top is worked vertically in double crochet, starting and ending at the back, and then joined with slip stitches. A ribbed edge is crocheted around the entire upper part of the top and continues into a halter neck. The neckline is finished with ribbing, creating the top’s unique shape and leaving space for the scarf detail.
Size
To find the correct size, measure yourself at the widest part of the bust. The pattern includes guideline measurements for length, but this can easily be adjusted to suit your body and the length you prefer. A helpful tip is to use a top from your wardrobe that you love the fit of as a reference. I always do this when crocheting garments to ensure the best possible fit.
The top shown in the photos is made in size M. The fit is loose and will stretch slightly after being worn, so you may want to choose one size smaller if you prefer a less relaxed fit. The sizes are based on EU measurements, and the design is intended to be slightly oversized. I am 180 cm / 5'11" tall, so keep this in mind if you are more petite. The pattern can always be adjusted to fit your exact measurements.
Approximate bust measurements:
XS: 82 cm
S: 86 cm
M: 90 cm
L: 94 cm
XL: 98 cm
Materials
A: 100% wool – Peruvian Highland Wool – 102 Black, 50g, 100m
B: 100% polyester sequin yarn, 50g, 250m
this yarn is just a recommendation, but you can find alternatives
Yarn Requirements
XS/S: 250–300 g of A, 2–3 balls of B
M/L: 300–350 g of A, 3 balls of B
L/XL: 350–400 g of A, 3–4 balls of B
(Yarn requirements may vary depending on the desired length of the scarf and any size adjustments.)
Crochet Hooks
2.5 mm (for the main body of the top)
3 mm (for the ribbed edges)
The stitch pattern is intended to be worked tightly. If you find it too difficult to work with, feel free to go up one hook size.
Gauge
10 × 10 cm = 10 double crochet stitches wide and 22 rows high
If you have more stitches than stated, switch to a smaller hook.
If you have fewer stitches than stated, switch to a larger hook.
The gauge should be slightly tight, as this will make the top firmer and more structured.
Construction
The top is worked in 5 steps:
The main body of the top
Ribbed edge covering the upper part of the top
The scarf
Ribbed edge over the bust (worked twice)
